This Privacy Policy explains how COLT ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services. - Authentication Data: Information provided through Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Firebase Authentication.
- Subscription Information: Purchase status, entitlement status, transaction-related identifiers, and subscription information provided through the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat.
- Support Communications: Information you provide if you contact us for support.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- User ID: Account or platform identifiers used to provide app functionality.
- Product Interaction Data: Information about how you interact with features in the app, such as screens viewed, actions taken, and general usage events.
- Diagnostics: Crash logs, error reports, and diagnostic data collected through services such as Firebase Crashlytics.
- Performance Data: Technical performance information such as app stability, launch behavior, and feature performance.
- Device and Technical Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, and certain technical identifiers processed by our service providers.
- Learning Progress: Information such as learned words, learned phrases, favorites, review activity, reading progress, and related in-app learning data.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To authenticate you through Apple, Google, and Firebase services.
- To provide core app features, including vocabulary learning, progress tracking, subscriptions, and access to premium content.
- To maintain app stability, detect bugs, and improve performance.
- To analyze general product usage and improve the learning experience.
- To process and manage subscriptions and premium access.
- To respond to support requests and enforce our terms.
3. Advertising and Tracking
COLT does not display third-party advertisements and does not use personal data for cross-app tracking or advertising tracking purposes. We do not sell your personal information and do not share your personal information with data brokers.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide the services you request, including login, account management, subscriptions, and app functionality.
- Legitimate Interests: To secure our services, prevent abuse, improve app stability, analyze performance, and enhance product quality.
- Consent: Where consent is required by law for specific processing activities.
- Legal Obligation: To comply with applicable laws and regulatory obligations.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
We work with a limited number of service providers that help us operate the app:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, database/storage infrastructure, analytics, and diagnostics.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reporting and technical diagnostics.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: User authentication.
- RevenueCat: Subscription management, entitlement status, and purchase validation support.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: Payment processing and in-app purchase/subscription handling.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with service providers when necessary to operate the app, process subscriptions, secure our services, or comply with the law.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account-related information is generally retained while your account remains active. Diagnostic and analytics information may be retained for a limited period as needed for security, debugging, and service improvement.
8. Account Deletion and Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data. If account deletion is available in the app, you may use that feature. You may also contact us at support@coltapp.com for data access, correction, deletion, or other privacy-related requests.
- Access: Request access to your personal data.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data, subject to legal limitations.
- Portability: Request a copy of certain data where applicable.
- Objection or Restriction: Request restriction or object to certain processing where applicable.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on infrastructure operated by our service providers in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including GDPR-compliant mechanisms.
10. Children's Privacy
COLT is not a children’s category app and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information.
11. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights regarding access to, deletion of, and information about personal data collection. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by applicable California law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app or by updating this page. Your continued use of COLT after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
